Pullman, WA

About me:

My family consists of 5 siblings, two older sisters, one who actually also came to Washington State University so I guess being a Coug runs in the family. I also have two younger brothers who see me as a role model, so I try to do what I can to help them in any way. Since I was the middle child, I was basically the peer mediator when fights occurred, and continue to help out others when needed.

Why Washington State University?

I chose Washington State University because it felt like a home away from home especially after meeting new friends that I made at Alive and would provide me more scholarships.

Favorite Place to Study:

Usually on campus, my favorite place to study is in the Owens Math and Science library because no one usually goes to that library and its just peaceful.

Favorite Campus Spot:

If I had to choose my favorite campus spot, it would have to be Martin stadium because it reminds me of winning the Apple Cup this past year!!! Go Cougs!!!!

So my favorite candy are Reeses and my favorite food is...well i don't have a favorite because I enjoy everything.

Advice for Cougar Parents?

Do not be scared to send them off alone, yes they do come alone but there are many ways for the parent to interact during school, such as Mom's weekend or Dad's weekend, or family events of the sort.

Involvement:

Some of the things I'm involved with are: recruitment chair for my Greek Organization, involved with the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano/a de Aztlan (Mecha) club and involved with the Children of Aztlan Sharing Higher Education (CASHE) conference - conference where students of underrepresented minorities come and learn more and are encouraged for higher education. In addition, I also help out the youth as a mentor at the Pullman School District.
