Joe Rodriguez

Elementary school teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District since 1996. 10 years at Harrison Street school where I taught primary grades Pk-2 as well as 4 years as the Bilingual Coordinator. Also 10 years at Humphreys Avenue School starting in the 2006-2017 school year where I taught 5 years in 3rd grade and 4 years in 5th grade. During the 2015-2016 school year I was the tech coach for the school's 1:1 program with iPads as well as being assigned to support two other elementary schools as part of the Instructional Technology Initiative in LAUSD.

A connected educator since 2005 first at EdTechTalk as well in spaces like K12OnlineConference member of the Connected Learning Community in CLMOOC in the Summer of 2013 and lurker since. Leveraging the power of network learning with twitter since 2007 for professional growth and to connect my classroom to the world.

Incorporating blogging and podcasting with my own students under our brand ThirdGradeDiscoveries in 2008-2011 and now 5thGradeConnect since 2011. A supporter of #kidslisten creators of podcasts for kids. I currently teach 5th Grade in a 1:1 Chromebook classroom at the Ambassador School of Global Education I am also the technology lead teacher in my school and facilitate educator G-Suite professional development in my local school district.

Board member for 2017-2020 of Computer Using Educators - Los Angeles CUELA an advocacy group for educational technology integration an affiliate of California CUE.org.
