roger ellis

sheffield, south yorkshire

I came to the UK from Australia in 1964 and taught in Cardiff University from 1967-2003 in the English Department. Since retirement I have got very involved in amateur music, men's groups inspired by the American Franciscan Richard rohr, and religion/spirituality. I am oresently Quaker fasith advisor to the University of Sheffield. Oh and PS my first wife died in 2003 and I remarried in 2005. No kids by either marriage, but cats..

I've also got heavily involved with the Campaign for the Defence of Asylum Seekers (Sheffield), and will be putting up somewhere here material in support of a first-year medical student (son of failed asylum seekers) who's going to need a change of policy by University authorities (if not the Government) - or else a fairy Iranian godmother - in order to pay his way through medical school.
