Mechanics are trained to repair and perform periodic maintenance of motor vehicles. To achieve this, they must know how the internal combustion of diesel engines works and be familiar with each of its parts so that they can be disassembled and assembled for repair. This job involves a high volume of manual labor, so it is important to be willing to get your hands dirty in the process.

With the advance of the automotive industry, mechanics have been forced to constantly train to keep up with trends and new technologies. Some mechanics prefer to specialize in a particular type of vehicle (car, bus or truck), while others work with a specific brand that is usually distinguished by its engine or highly complex systems.

Generally, mechanics work in garages, car dealerships or transport companies where they carry out regular maintenance or repairs to cars, and some choose to work independently or self-employed in their own workshops
