Jeff Rogers

Amherst

Adventurer, College Student, American.

As a young man, Jeff spent his childhood growing up in the suburban town of Upton. The Boy Scouts of America led him to his first outing in the wilderness of mendon and upton, and he quickly outgrew the restrictive adult leadership so frequent in today's modern scouting. From then on, he spent his summers venturing to the far northern peaks of New England. He has fond memories of summiting Mt. Katahdin via knifes edge in 50mph winds, and the relaxing tranquility of a 100 mile canoe expedition he went on with his dad, brother and another father and son. In between skiing (on water and snow), snowmobiling, backpacking, shooting, rock climbing, fishing, canoeing and seizing all the adventuring the outdoors has to offer, he found his scholastic interests lie within the efficiency of an enterprise.

While persuing his business degree in the Isenberg School of Mangament, he was fascinated by creating a company that was a "well oiled machine". Jeff decicded to take on the major of Operations and Information Management, and he quickly realized through linear programming and different types of business analytics, this is where his insatiable appetite for efficiency would be entertained. While aspiring to create and thrive by running his own business, he sees one of the best ways to ensure that is by getting a degree in OIM, a major that emphasizes efficeincy in product procurement and business processes.

“For the stone from the top for geologists, the knowledge of the limits of endurance for the doctors, but above all for the spirit of adventure to keep alive the soul of man.”
