Roger Vang

My name is Roger Vang, I’m from Stevens Point Wisconsin and I’m currently staying with my sister in South Maplewood Minnesota. I am currently looking for a job and hopefully becoming a resident of Minnesota.
I am 28 years old, the second oldest and have 5 sister and 1 younger brother.
I started becoming fascinated with art in kindergarten drawing my favorite cartoon show Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. My teacher hsf taken an interest in my art and used it for our parent teacher conference, which gave me a huge boost of confidence at a young age. Because of this I had kept up with art through my school career. I kept myself busy with projects and painted two murals which rewarded me with the outstanding art achievement.
I wanted more with my life so I continued through college close to home. I picked up programs Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, 3d Max, and Flash. I had attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point with a major in art. It wasn’t what I was looking for; so I took the initiative to create an organization called Dashio Con. I was in charge of logos, ads, and our mascot. It was a small but great success. Daisho Con had 500 the first year and grew more the following years. We did have our fair share of crisis when our hotel closed down months before our event. Using our connections we were able to relocate to the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells. This was the foundation for other organizations to step up and forme other anime conventions, becuase of our past succesful experiance we were asked to assist in their progress. After 5 years of college I took a break from college and began working however there wasn’t anything in Stevens Point in my field. I had spent three years in at a factory job, a call center and a few freelance commissions. My parents had then convinced me to move to Minnesota to find something better for my future.
