A big Hello ! from India - where change is the only constant and frugal innovation (Jugaad) is at the core of everyday living. Oh yes, it is also a land of great cultural diversity; just like any other country.

Something about me -

  • I have designed and developed marine engines for GE's customers around the globe
  • I have had most fun hand-building automotive diesel engines in Mahindra.
  • I have worked 3 part-time jobs when I was studying in the UK – first as a security official for soccer matches, then as a bartender, and finally as a sandwich and savory maker at a local deli.
  • My friends call me hyperactive – I can jolt into action at the flip of a switch.
  • I am a true optimist. To arrive on time for a dinner date, I once drove my car for 20 miles while the refuel signal was flashing, and I just kept on telling myself that I will reach no matter what. And I did!
  • I could ride a bicycle sitting other way around on the handle bar. I had practiced this technique for a local competition in my native place. I also won the slow cycling competition, without applying brakes, for a consecutive 3 years.
  • I find Sheldon’s (The Big Bang Theory) rationalism and his “buzzingas” absolutely mind-boggling.
  • I am drawn to the charm of black & white photography and more often than not I have my camera set in monochrome mode.
  • I can cook a mean lamb curry and chicken curry but falter badly when preparing vegetarian food. However, I can make a really good all-veg salad.
  • Classic and prograssive rock is on continuous playback as part of my daily morning dose of music.
  • To alleviate my fear of water and heights, my father made me jump into an open well half full of water. He jumped first and was floating effortlessly in the water, waiting for me to follow suit.
  • I don’t need a big reason to get into my car, crank up the stereo and drive. But when it’s to surprise my mother for her birthday, the 600 miles, 12-hour non-stop journey back to my home town was that much more special.
  • I was my grandfather’s favourite among his four grandsons. The way I rode the bicycle and my father’s bike for the first time, and the way I drove the car the first time made him strongly believe that I could fly an aeroplane as well.
