I was born in New Providence, Bahamas. My interest at that time centered around.Business, Music,and Theater. I worked for City Markets, and when Winn Dixie and Quick Check Super Markets (11 Stores) bought the stores I worked for them as a produce Manager.
The company paid for me to take the Dale Carnegie Course in Public Speaking and Human Relations. After I completed the course, I was promoted to Store Manager and later to Produce supervisor.
Me and 4 friends formed a theater group called The Bahama Drama Circle, we produced and directed Plays. I was also a member of a Community Concert Band. Played the Alto Saxophone.
I left the Bahamas in 1970, and moved to New York. After some odd jobs, I applied at the Airlines at JFK unsuccessfully. So, I took a job with Landsdale Protective Agency. as a security officer. I was later offered the position of Passenger Screening Supervisor. at Pan American Airways (Day shift) My teams of 55 officers on normal flight days and 75 during busy periods. We also covered New York Airways and Allegeny Airlines.
During that period I was trained By Bendix, on the prototype X-Ray machine. The first one to be used for passenger screening.Due to the low pay, I applied with Edison Parking Corp. In response a to newspaper ad.
I worked at Lincoln Center as co manager and Once I learned the system, was moved to various locations in NY. Once I was vetted. I was transferred out of state. Since You would be in charge of the co cash, employee's, dealing with the owners and their customers, you must pass muster.
I worked in Binghamton NY, Baltimore, MD, Livingston, NJ. Cleveland, OH. and in Indian Ap. Indiana. as a manager and City manager.
Having worked managing for other people, I now am exited to do my own thing.
