I'm Rokia Ahmed Abdi, Family & Friends call me Kia. I'm Algerian, born in Mali &used 2 liv in Niger (Niamey) be4 comng 2 UAE. Graduate of University of Sharjah wid dual Associate degrees in th areas of Management Information System & operations as Major & Finance as Minor. I ws th IT coordinator of University of Sharjah Women Dorms & Students Union Office & president of Microsoft DotNet club. Information Technology (IT) circles in my Blood; this is a simple way 2 express hw I love IT in general. My priorities Is for my Family, respect & learn 2 share wht I know in order 2 help myself & others. I participated twice in Imagine cup "Team Explorers". In 2011 Winners of th Gulf Region Mobile Development Award with Touch.Edu Project & in 2010, Software Design competition, classified in th top 10 Gulf Regional Finalist. I'm more in2 Information security & IT Auditing. I program a bit good in Java, C++, C#, VB & recently started developing small apps 4 WP7. I code just 4 FUN as a Hobby.

Whn I 1st came 2 UAE 4my Bachelor degree al I had in mind ws studyng medicine or dentist, very far frm IT. da turn point happnd whn my English teacher Dr. Mouhamed K.A frm India askd us 2pick a topic & present it in class usng PowerPoint & Datashow, I asked thgirl next 2me "What is PowerPoint, Datashow & hw 2use thm?" she looked @ m & said "Seriously you don't knw PPT & Datashow?" I replied "Yes, I don't know" thn she askd "Where R U from?" I told her where im frm...

The next day I started hearing th other girls saying 2each others that I don't knw what is PPT, Datashow, Msft Office...& that was true till 2007 I didn't knw anything about IT not even hw 2use any kind technology tools other thn Mobile of course. It hurt m seeing th girls taking m 4 an IT Dummy...since thn I decided & took da challenge 2 b classified among da best in IT in my campus & learn as much as I can. I kept seeking hw 2learn &whenever I askd some1 abt something, da only word I hear ws "Search in Google" or "Go 2Google" I didn't knw wht they were talking about til I met 1 of my best "Muna Ockba" who ws da Microsoft DotNet club presidnt @ that tim & MSP. That ws whn my real Journey started, I got 2know a lot with her, I bcom part of da DotNet club member. in 2009 I applied 4 MSP Program & ws selected to present.
