Rolland Kornblau
Rolland Kornblau has more than 18 years experience in Educational Technology. An accomplished leader, his mission and vision have been the driving forces behind the technical success of the Whittier City School District.
Mr. Kornblau took the reigns of technology for Whittier City from the beginning of the department. Through continued development of the department, and by working with students and staff, Mr. Kornblau exemplifies leadership and knowledge in the industry. Working as the Supervisor of Technology since 1999, and presently the Director of Technology for the Whittier City School District, Mr. Kornblau works to steer Technology in Education to the forefront of the K12 Industry.
Before working for Whittier City School District, Mr. Kornblau worked for Hacienda La Puente Unified School District and consulted with Little Lake School District and private Industry with Technology needs.
Mr. Kornblau’s exceptional track record of technical improvement is based on his belief of being a life long learner, leading by example and the ability to break down complex problems into understandable bits. His is known to quickly identify issues and translate them into a passage of knowledge that goes far beyond a “fix”. Mr. Kornblau has an ability to prepare for future challenges by utilizing his network of industry connections and social networks to stay informed on technological advances.
Mr. Kornblau received an MPA degree from the California State University of Northridge and a B.S. degree in Information Systems from American Sentinel University. He is a CCTO (Certified Chief Technology Officer) through CETPA (California Educational Technology Professionals Association) , CETPA CTO Mentor, Certified Leading Edge Administrator, ACSA (Association of School Administrators) Member and Mentor, a Member of CUE (Computer Using Educators), serves on the TechSETS Advisory Committee and the Rio Hondo College CIT (Computer Information Technology) Advisory Committee.
