Roman Skorzus
Digital Development Consultant and Photographer in Metro Manila, Philippines
Roman is working as a digital development consultant for the World Bank and supports East-Asia Pacific and South-Asia with data science, geospatial technology, and policy recommendations for sustainable development.
Previously Roman worked as a Policy Lead at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. In this role he developed policy solutions to enable emerging economies to enhance socio-economic development with technology.
Before joining the World Bank, Roman has worked for the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) to map and analyze rice areas across Asia with satellite data. He has also worked for the German Development Cooperation to support the development of a micro-insurance for rice farmers.
Roman holds a Master of Public Policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. He specialized in international economic and trade policy, global value chains, and economic analysis.
Roman holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography from the Humboldt-University of Berlin and a master's degree in Geoinformatics (GIS and Remote Sensing) from the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena.
