Romyr Dominique obtained his Bachelor degree in Biochemistry from the University of Montreal and his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Ottawa in Canada. After the completion of its postdoctoral studies at the Scripps Research Institute in San Diego, Romyr Dominique worked as a medicinal chemist for 8 years at Hoffmann-La Roche in New Jersey where he contributed to the discovery of a clinical candidate.
