Lived in Columbus, Ohio all my life. Not many can say that! Elementary School was 11th Ave., which is no longer there as RT. 71 took that part of 11th Ave. Went to Linden McKinley High School. My father, Bert had several service stations at the corner of Indianola and Oakland Park Ave.. I, as a youngster, washed cars there on weekends. As I got older, I graduated to pumping gas and lubes, oil changes, and other things. After that I started doing tune-ups, brake jobs and even overhauled several engines. My first car was a 1940 Ford 2 door sedan. I probably tore out ten transmissions on that car. Then I was told to put in a floor stick and I wouldn't tear it out again. I did, and I tore it out on my way home, about 5 miles from the station. Later on I got a 1955 White Cadillac convertable with a black top and red and white leather interior. I wish I had kept it. It would be worth around $50,000 today. Then at the age of 20, I got into the horse racing business. I did that for 12 years. Then I got into Real Estate and have been here for 34+ years now. I am now with Coldwell Banker King Thompson. I had been with 3 other brokers during that time. Now that I am with CBKT, I found a company that is very professional and does things very, very well.
