Ronald Harmsen
Consultant, Software Engineer, and Small Business Owner in Arnhem, Nederland
I'm a software engineer with a slightly old-fashioned belief: the software you ship today should still be running, and still be a pleasure to work on, ten years from now. I have spent over 25 years putting that belief into practice as co-owner of NForza, where our team builds and runs the systems our customers genuinely depend on. Some of those partnerships are now past two decades.
Most of my work sits at the intersection of three things: building mission-critical software, helping teams adopt the practices that keep it healthy, and teaching what we learn along the way. That means custom development and consulting through NForza, code and architecture audits for organisations who want an honest second opinion, and training and conference speaking on the topics we work with daily: AI-assisted development, software architecture, Kubernetes platforms, DevOps, and pragmatic security.
I have trained thousands of developers and engineers across the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and the UK, and I speak regularly at international conferences including Techorama, DevSum, and WeAreDevelopers.
When I am not in front of a keyboard or a classroom, I am usually on a motorcycle somewhere, planning the next route or riding the last one.
