Ronald Klaus
Christian teacher, Community developer, and Mathematician in Goshen, Indiana
Since 2004 Dr. Ronald L. Klaus has worked in Ethiopia on spiritual and economic transformation with Hope In View, Inc. He helps churches and other organizations implement small discipleship groups which focus on both those issues. He gives many seminars throughout the country. Most of them are with grass roots leaders in various parts of the country. He has also taught at four different seminaries and a college. He advises a large Protestant denomination, a Catholic renewal movement, several groups within the Orthodox Church, the Christian student movement, and various individual leaders.
During his time in Ethiopia, Ronald Klaus has been in contact with leaders in the Muslim community as well. They have been grappling with the influx of radical Islamists. They have been doing their best at peacemaking. Discussions with them and other research have led Dr. Klaus to re-think US mid-east policy. He is now speaking and blogging about that in the USA.
His overseas work is an outgrowth of 20 years in which Ron Klaus pastored four different congregations in the USA. He also lectured in seminaries and Bible schools in the USA and 6 other countries.
Still earlier he had a career in engineering and science. Dr. Klaus graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a B.Ch.E. and Ph.D. in chemical engineering. He worked on rocket science at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory for four years. Then he joined the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, teaching chemical engineering and computer science. Later he worked at VAST Power Systems as Director of Applications. He continues to work in science, math, and computer applications in his spare time. In the context of his two careers, he also writes on the relationship between science and faith.
