Ronald Moy

funeral director in Escondido, California

I’m Ronald Moy, a funeral director based in Escondido, California, where I’ve had the privilege of serving families for more than 20 years. My path into this work began as a child, helping my grandfather at his small neighborhood mortuary. Watching how a kind word or quiet moment of empathy could comfort grieving families left a lasting impression on me and set the foundation for my career.

I studied psychology at California State University San Marcos, with a minor in communications, before completing a mortuary science certificate. Over the years, I’ve built my own practice here in Escondido with a focus on three guiding principles: empathy, attention to detail, and integrity. I’ve created memory galleries to honor life stories, hosted grief support circles, and written grief guidance pamphlets in multiple languages so that every family feels seen and supported.

Outside of my profession, I mentor mortuary science students, teach grief communication at the community college, and volunteer with local community centers. At home, I enjoy gardening, woodworking, and spending time with my wife and two children. For me, this work is more than a career—it’s a calling to care for people in their most difficult moments.
