Ronald Philburn
A representative of Michigan’s Children’s Protective Services, a division of the Department of Human Services, Ronald Philburn holds responsibility for investigating domestic problems affecting children and taking steps to correct abuse or neglect, whether by improving home life through parenting classes and counseling or by removing children from harmful environments and placing them in foster homes or group homes. Ronald Philburn’s work goes well beyond his job description, as he utilizes his outside knowledge of interpersonal psychology to better connect with and help the youths he oversees. Recognized as a gifted social worker by the Who’s Who editorial board, Ronald Philburn will represent his profession in the 2010/2011 Global Directory of Who’s Who business registry. When he is not working to protect at-risk children, Ronald Philburn likes to spend time in Michigan’s natural surroundings. An avid hiker of the state’s many scenic areas, Ronald Philburn also enjoys boating and fishing on Michigan’s many rivers and lakes. An amateur photographer, he often documents his outdoor experiences on film. Indeed, Ronald Philburn possesses considerable artistic talent, spending his spare time building furniture of his own design as a hobby and personally remodeling home interiors. He also likes to relax with a good book; two of his favorite authors are Daniel Goleman, an expert on emotional intelligence, and Dr. Douglas Puryear, a well-known psychologist and an authority on using mediation to solve interpersonal problems.
