Ronald Porzio

As President of Porzio Consulting, Ronald Porzio advocates for veterans and active military personnel as they attempt to navigate the VA and private sector medical systems. With more than 30 years of experience in hospital administration management, Ronald Porzio possesses a comprehensive understanding of the medical system. He appplies his expertise to assist veterans and active military members in gaining access to health care and benefits. Before launching his private consulting career in August 2009, Ronald Porzio served as Administrative Director of Swedish Medical Center for five years. In this role, he managed physician’ practices throughout the medical center's campuses. He oversaw a wide range of specialists, including internists, hospitalists, psychiatrists, critical care physicians, and anesthesiologists. Ronald Porzio also dealt with the organization's collections department, improved coding compliance, and successfully collected millions of dollars. In addition, Mr. Porzio worked as Director and Chief Operating Officer with the VA Medical Center and a Northwest Network Northwestern Regional Office of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Serving the organization for nearly 10 years, Mr. Porzio led a major market research effort in concert with Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. and Gallup, Inc. He also redesigned the VA Medical Center's service delivery practices to improve customer service and ratings. Under Ronald Porzio's guidance, the medical center received scores some of the best in the country and earned the first perfect patient review scores in the VA hospital system. At the regional office, he employed Six Sigma methodology to improve efficiency in processing disability claims for veterans. Due to his initiatives, the center reduced processing time from 240 days to 90 days. A member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Ronald Porzio also belongs to the Knights of Columbus and the Order Sons of Italy in America. He also supports a number of Catholic charities, United Way Worldwide, and Saint Barbara Parish. In his free time, Mr. Porzio likes spending time with his wife and daughter, as well as reading, cooking, singing, playing the guitar, and fishing.
