With over a decade of dedicated service in public safety, justice services, and community advocacy, I have committed my career to supporting marginalized populations and developing comprehensive reintegration strategies. My professional journey commenced with the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service. I served as a Correctional Officer for 13 years, gaining invaluable insights into the intricacies of correctional systems, rehabilitation frameworks, and the critical need for evidence-based reform initiatives.

Since I recently returned to Trinidad and Tobago, I am actively seeking opportunities in similar capacities to continue this meaningful work. My recent experience in Ontario, Canada, included serving in dual professional roles as an Adult Justice Worker (Bail Verification and Supervision) with The John Howard Society and a Community Services Worker with The Good Shepherd. In these positions, I specialized in harm reduction methodologies, crisis intervention protocols, client case management, and providing comprehensive support to justice-involved individuals through culturally competent and trauma-informed practice frameworks.

My academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of the West Indies, enhanced by two Ontario Postgraduate Certificates in Management in Community Services and Health and Social Systems Navigation from Conestoga College. My scholarly work has focused extensively on criminal justice reform initiatives, community-based rehabilitation programming, and policy analysis designed to optimize social reintegration outcomes and reduce recidivism rates.

Guided by an unwavering commitment to social justice and equity, I am developing a nonprofit organization in Trinidad and Tobago that will provide comprehensive second-chance opportunities for individuals impacted by the criminal justice system. This strategic initiative will encompass transitional housing services, pretrial support programs, and wraparound services for individuals who are incarcerated or facing charges but lack financial resources for bail, thereby addressing systemic inequities and reimagining reintegration through principles of dignity, opportunity, and holistic care.

My professional philosophy centers on developing responsive systems that meet clients at their point of need, establishing restorative and transformative pathways. My mission is to catalyze justice, compassion, and sustainable change within our community and beyond.
