Ron Jacklin
Ron Jacklin began his multimedia career in 1989 at Vision Presentations where he prepared thousands of corporate presentations for clients of all sizes. Eventually, Ron’s department grew to be one of the largest of its kind in Western Canada.
Ron formed the Media FX Group (MFXG) in 2003 and added partner Zach Shore in 2005. The company has four departments. They include; Website development (including Hosting and online Marketing), Corporate Events, print graphics, and Digital Signage. The Media FX Group has been hired to develop the multimedia productions on the event side for the Beijing & Vancouver Olympics , the Conservative Party of Canada on election nights, Clarica Insurance in Cancun, Mexico, Pentax Medical in Banff, A&W Restaurants in Florida, Quebec City, Palm Springs, and Hawaii, the Vancouver Real Estate Board Awards, and Canada Day at the Canada Place and more. The BC Technology Industries Association hires the Media FX Group to develop their media for their award nights.
The BC Ministry of Education uses the Media FX Group to launch new curriculum initiatives to BC schools, eLearning for teachers who deal with Autism, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, and other disabilities. The Royal Canadian The Legion uses the Media FX Group for their website development AND gala events. These clients use the website development and SEO expertise of the Media FX Group.
On the digital signage front, the Media FX Group made a big “splash” with BC Ferries Vacations. Ron’s team produced a 16 LCD video wall for the foyer of the new downtown sales center. Flying Wedge Pizza uses a 4-screen LCD video wall from the Media FX Group. However, the real work for Ron and his team is in the content. Some clients include point of purchase video productions for Hershey’s, Hostess, and many others.
When not managing projects at the Media FX group, Ron is helping to create the next wave of multi-media talent in BC as an instructor in the New Media Design program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). Courses that Ron teaches include: Information Architecture and UX/UI Strategy 1.
