Ronald Kulabako Kato

Journalist in Kampala, Uganda

Ronald is a journalist, documentary film maker and radio and TV producer based in Kampala, Uganda.

Since 2010, he's worked for two radio stations and a TV station as a reporter, producer and show host. Ronald covered the 2011 Uganda general election for Bukedde FM and most recently the 2016 general election for Bukedde FM and Urban Television.

In 2014, he covered the deadly violence in Uganda's Rwenzori region for Urban TV. In 2016, he led work on 'Rwenzori: Mountains of Trouble', a series of reports explaining the sources of instability in Uganda's Rwenzori mountains.

He has reported for the BBC in a partnership arrangement with Urban TV. His story, filmed in Uganda and the United States, focused on a medical innovation with the potential to save millions of babies born with breathing trouble.

Away from journalism, Ronald has directed films for the World Bank in Uganda, GIZ and many other corporate organisations.

Currently, he's a special projects reporter at Urban Television.
