Ronnie S. Stangler, M.D. is an internationally recognized physician, psychiatrist, medical thought leader and innovator, based in New York City. Founder of Genome Advisory, Dr. Stangler assists global families and their advisors to enhance health, longevity and resilience; to mitigate risk; and to promote enduring family legacy. She served for over a decade as chief health and well-being officer to international families and family offices in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Barbados, and the Middle East.
Clinical Professor Emerita at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and former Sports Medicine Faculty at the University of Washington, Dr. Stangler maintains a small clinical medical consultancy, blending traditional relationship-based psychotherapy and executive coaching, informed by cutting edge developments in brain health and neuroscience, psychopharmacology, genomics and epigenetics, and longevity medicine. She brings decades of expertise developed in her distinguished medical practice in Seattle and New York City where she has worked extensively with corporate leaders, professional athletes, and prominent public figures.
Dr. Stangler collaborates with Harvard Business School's Family Office Executive Education Program, co-authoring their first case in clinical genetics, “Genomics in the Family Office". She has completed two additional cases exploring "Mental Health in the Family Office". She served as Advisor to Harvard Medical School, Department of Genetics, Personal Genetics Education Project, where she co-created a unique series of symposia: “Genes, Technology and Incalculable Ethics: The Family Office of the Future”. Dr. Stangler received certification with merit in genetics from the HMX Program at Harvard Medical School. She has been invited to contribute a chapter on "The Neuroscience of Behavioral Change" for a new edited textbook in Precision Medicine to be published by Elsevier Press in spring 2023.
Dr. Stangler was named a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, where she has held many national offices.
Dr. Stangler is a frequent guest of global family office and medical conferences, addressing psychological and interpersonal issues related to wealth. She also speaks to the essential role of life sciences in strategic planning, including governance, succession, and legacy creation. Dr. Stangler regularly contributes to multiple major media outlets, print, digital and podcasts.
