Ron Parker

I've been involved in technology all my life in one way or another. I like to take things apart to see how they work.

Some of the work things I do now include:

• IT Director/CIO (and Chief Security Worrier) at Brazosport College
• Manage team of ~20 people that maintains a large and diverse network of systems, devices, software and services

Some things I do for fun currently:

• Constant reading, primarily non-fiction
• Ham radio (KE5RON)
• FPS gaming (currently Battlefield 3)
• Mountain bike riding
• Hiking and backpacking
• Shooting
• Volunteer communications support for MS150 and other bike rides

Some of the work things I've done in my past include:

• Programming in various languages on personal computers and bigger systems
• Creation and maintenance of various databases
• Software training for systems including ones that I programmed
• Consulting
• Creating software to help colleges track student retention
• Counting money (bank teller)
• FM radio DJ
