Rory F Kenner

Teaching music in the Portland Area, and a member of several local music groups, I spend my time creating, learning and living the musical life.

I see myself as a natural musician and thoughtful teacher. I see the students I've taught - young and not so young - as opportunities to broaden their experiences and to expand their minds, in a very literal sense! I strive to foster a comfortable learning atmostphere by engaging learners with my friendly nature and easy going style of teaching. I encourage my students to conceptualize their musical passions and goals with a consistent practice with empthasis on hard work to develop their own musical style. Into these lessons, I attempt to weave the vast knowledge base of music theory and music history, while stressing the importance of developing focused routines and the discipline that it takes to be a good musician.

A true musician with a fantastic ear, Rory has a passion for music and for the guitar that is absolutely contagious.
