Rosalie Kravitz
Rosalie Kravitz, a principal broker in Pelham for Ann DeSantis, a division of Kravitz, Realtors®, Ltd., understands that "a house is so much more than a house. It is where you grow your family.....Real estate is not just a house. It's a life."
With that as her foundation, Kravitz works with both buyers and sellers from New York City to the upper counties, both residential and commercial. An agent for more than 20 years, she sees houses as art. She points to her town as an example of a unique collection of homes. "There are no cookie cutter houses in Pelham. Every house has its character, interesting details."
Rosalie considers herself a matchmaker, bringing buyer and seller together. Whether she works for the buyer or seller, price is only one piece of a bigger picture. When representing the buyer, Rosalie negotiates for price and terms. When working for the seller, she helps to create a house that will appeal to a variety of buyers.
She believes it is her job to educate sellers about the current market and trends when it comes to selling. Houses need to be uncluttered, have a welcoming entrance, and have a price that meets the current market. According to Rosalie, lower Westchester has survived the new economy better than some other markets because of its proximity to New York City where there are still jobs.
Rosalie Kravitz works with sellers on "staging," which is more important than ever in this market. She says buyers often make a decision within the first few seconds about whether they are interested in a house or not. Staging includes painting and minimal furniture, placed properly. "Buyers expect to see a house that doesn't have your personal life in there."
