Rosemarie has worked with children nearly all of her life!. As a young girl, she forced her younger siblings and neighborhood children to submit to her desires to play school; they were the pupils and she, of course was the teacher. It was in these early stages of pretend play that Rosemarie's lifelong commitment to children took root.

As Associate Professor in the School of Education at Metro State University, she engages, inspires, and enhances the lives of future teachers of young children.

Rosemarie has held leadership positions in the field of early childhood for more than 40 years. Her life's work is centered on ensuring children have access to high quality early childhood programs that are developmentally and culturally appropriate.

Her passion is in ensuring racial equity and reducing the racial disparities especially in the expulsions, suspensions and discipline of children of color in early childhood programs.
