ROSEMARIE ROBOTHAM is an editor, writer, book coach and literary collaborator. She has acquired and edited a number of titles for Shebooks.net, publisher of short ebooks by women in the genres of memoir, fiction and long-form journalism. Through her editorial studio, Literary Alchemy, she has supported numerous clients as a ghostwriter, coauthor, developmental editor, line editor, book coach and self-publishing consultant.
Rosemarie started her career in magazine journalism traveling the globe as a reporter and writer for the monthly Life, and later served as a senior editor at Simon & Schuster and the deputy editor of Essence magazine. The coauthor of the award-winning Spirits of the Passage: The Transatlantic Slave Trade in the Seventeenth Century, she is the author of Jamaica Dreams, a memoir, and Zachary's Wings, a novel, and the editor of two literary collections, Mending the World and The Bluelight Corner.
Previously a writer-in-residence at Yaddo artists’ community in Saratoga Springs, New York, Rosemarie lives with her husband and two children in New York City, just up the street from Barnard College and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, her alma maters. A meticulous line editor, she is known for her keen sense of story and voice, respect for deadlines, and warm collaborative approach. Her goal always is literary alchemy—creating magic with words.
