Rose Skinner

I was born and raised in Cadillac Michigan to the parents of Joseph and Ginger Kardos. I am the first born American in my family and proud of it! After high school, I explored several different classes at a community college trying to find something that I was really passionate about. I didn't find anything I wanted to commit to right away, so I decided to travel to the Caribbean for a while. I lived in the Virgin Islands for nearly a year, before returning and attending cosmetology school. I really enjoyed the work and working with people. I earned high marks and received my license in December of 1990 - a license which I maintain today. I started my own business a year later. My salon, The Ritz, was a full service salon and spa and the first in my hometown. I enjoyed the challenges of starting and running a successful business. I think that experience taught me more than an MBA actually! After five years, I sold my business and went back to school. I earned two bachelor degrees while starting a family with my husband, David. I currently reside in Palmyra Virginia with my husband of 11 years and three kids, Gabriella, Grace and Tristian. Business is apparently in my blood. I realIy enjoy it. I am currently managing a Self Storage company and in my spare time, writing my first book. I pride myself on my Ethics, Strength and Perseverance. I have found that providing the very best service is an essential aspect of any successful business while communication and availability give customers a feeling of great importance. I strongly believe that the above approach, which I have adapted, was the key for me being successful in many of my jobs. I have worn many hats over the years and overcame sizeable obstacles on my path to what i term success. Success to me is not a monetary thing but more of a place where I am at mentally - proud of who i have become, where I have come from and where I have yet to go. Whatever I set my sights to, I accomplish.
