Ross Benes
I'm a persistent and obsessive writer and researcher. I've written for Esquire, The Wall Street Journal, Deadspin, Sports on Earth, SB Nation, Slate, Salon, Business Insider, Quartz, Crain's Detroit Business, The Freeman, The Billfold and Lincoln Journal Star. My work has also been blurbed by The Atlantic CityLab, The Huffington Post, NPR, Out Magazine, Omaha World-Herald, Nerve, Deadline Detroit and Reason.
What I'm most interested in doing now is writing web and magazine pieces while working towards an eventual career as an author. However, I am willing to work for anyone willing to adequately pay me.
My first book, about the indirect effects between sex and society, is set for a spring 2017 release. I ultimately want to write social science books for general audiences in the vein of Mary Roach, Dan Ariely and Stephen Dubner. Hopefully I'm working toward that.
