British by birth, Ross Beresford started out in software development, latterly running Crossword Man, which specializes in applications for solving and constructing crosswords.

Marriage to the romance writer Magdalen Braden brought Ross to the United States in 2007 and he became a US citizen in 2011. They now run the indie publishing business Harmony Road Press.
