Ross Cleaver

Dorchester, Dorset, UK

My strengths lie in the diversity of my creativity and over 15 years of practical, hands on, experience in turning ideas into reality.

I am an expressive, effective writer and speaker. My clients and colleagues respect me for being trustworthy and knowledgeable. I’m an empathic and dynamic leader who believes strongly in the power of teamwork. I am tenacious both in reaching targets and meeting deadlines, and I have good sense of humour.

I studied at the Bournemouth & Poole College of Art and Design and at University of Wales Institute Cardiff. This led to a variety of diverse roles including design assistant at the BBC, multimedia designer at Seven in Cardiff, Wales, and a graphic designer at ACP Publishing in Australia.

I have taught at colleges and universities, set up and worked on a number of creative industry enterprises and been invited to speak at a number of events.

Returning to the UK in 2004, I set up my own company. I am extremely proud of the work that my team and I produced at Revolting, some of the highlights including winning a Lovie award and a Media Innovation Award. In 2014 Revolting was ranked the 27th best small agency in the U.K. by The Drum magazine.

Although this has been the most exciting, challenging and rewarding period of my life, and despite Revolting surviving recession and indeed, up until recently, flourishing, I have come to the decision that it is time for a new chapter and a new challenge.

I am now looking to find a position that will allow me to be more focused, allowing me to concentrate on what I see as my core strength - my creativity. However I don't necessarily believe this has to mean creative in a traditional sense, as I believe something incorporating planning and strategy could see me excelling in a client facing capacity, or perhaps working client-side, in a brand / marketing management position.

Ultimately I’m really looking forward to stretching myself by undertaking something challenging and new.
