Ohio Guns and Gear Cory
First off, thank you for looking at my blog.
Now why have I created this site? Well to begin I think I need to get into my history. Now to start off I am going to be honest say I am not the most experienced person out there nor do I have all of the answers (well no one really does) but I believe I do have a lot to offer.
I am a 22 year old college senior who has a passion for all things tactical and historical. I am in my last semester and will be graduating in May with a Major in History and Minors in High School Education and American Studies. My college studies have allowed me to develop very strong research and writing schools that allow me to analyze and break apart research material. I believe this to be valuable when going through large amounts of reviews and writings of other people to find the best opinions on products and gear.
In order to help pay for college I have continually worked at a gun shop, known as Fin, Feather, Fur, Outfitters, which is one the largest firearms dealer in Ohio and the top Ohio retailer for Savage, Ruger, Smith & Wesson, and Kimber. I have gained a ton of inside knowledge of the industry as well as many connections to varying Reps. In my 3+ years of working at the Fin, I have worked in the Gun Department selling many firearms, ammo, reloading gear, any my specialty, optics and tactical accessories. I now work in the Knife and Safe department selling not only knives and safes, but binos, rangefinders, air rifles, sharpening equipment and Garmin products (do not worry, i still sell guns).
As for shooting, I shoot recreationally, but plan on getting into NRA highpower after I graduate and eventually plan on doing PRS shooting (my passion is in long range shooting). I also have very good friends who I plan to use as experts. One was just recently inducted into the National Pistolsmith Guild, the other owns his own training company and is a former S.W.A.T. officer.
Now that I have given you some background, what is my purpose?
I plan to use a writing style in my blogs know in the historian world as a historiographical approach. This style takes a particular subject, say Al Capone, and looks at the various view points and opinions of various historians, compares and contracts them, and comes up with a concise answer to a particular question. I plan to do this when looking at different products and events in the firearm world. For example, if I am reviewing a new
