Hello there, I’m Rosslyn Milne and I have an obsession with the moon. Ever since I was a little girl, I have been drawn to it. As early as three years old, I remember asking my parents to let me go outside at night time so I could “search for the moon”.

Most nights growing up my dad and I would climb to the roof for a nightly viewing of the moon and discuss the phase it was in. He would research everything there was to know about the moon so that he could share it with me. We would talk about the moon for hours and learn a new fact every day. For my dorm room, he got me a light up moon for my wall. When turned on, it displays the actual moon phase of each day, so that I would never forget to look at the moon without him.

During quarantine, I decided to take an online astronomy course that was centered solely around the moon. With that I gained further knowledge about our moon as well as the many other moons for the surrounding planets. This all inspired me to think about a minor in Physics and Astronomy at UGA. With this knowledge, I continue to learn and explore all aspects of life.
