Rotimi is passionate about contributing towards the global challenge associated with mental health and substance use and abuse which is currently ravaging humanity. He focuses on driving his advocacy initiatives in the Nigeria Logistics and Supply Chain sector, particularly the trucking space, where he has significant professional knowledge and experience. The sector is dominated by untrained, uncertified, and even underage drivers who often perceive the trucking profession as reserved for substance users who must depend on drugs and other risky behaviors for professional success.
Rotimi's zest for knowledge of substance use was born out of his passion to enlighten Nigerian intellectual youth demography to embrace Truck Driving for the economic benefits locally but most importantly for the international job opportunities it provides.
He has been involved in different projects while working with professionals from other sectors and discipline to solve various practical human issues and challenges in the sector to transform the trucking profession in Nigeria into a more lucrative and decent profession that is able to attract the elite and intellectuals as obtained in developed countries such as US, Canada and UK. He also recently started actively participating in the Electric Vehicle (EV) discourse in line with effort by global climate change actors, governments of developed countries and organizations to achieve zero emission by 2050. In this direction he has been able to aggregate a handful of companies which are working towards earning carbon credit by switching from fossil fuel to green energy. This step was motivated by the rising cost of fuel in Nigeria vis-a-vis the need to find a buffer for the low income population.
As a dynamic, creative, innovative and fluid professional with over 25 years experience in the Logistics and Transport Industry, Rotimi has managed a handful of Transport and Logistics businesses including Tri-Modal Logistics Ltd which he founded and currently sits on its board and management as the Managing Director.
Rotimi is a member of the International Society for Substance Use Professional (ISSUP) and an SDG 2030 advocate. He is also a member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply Management of Nigeria, and Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics (CILT), where he served as member of the National Committee on Business Strategy and Public Relations (BS & PR).
