Rotshidzwa Tshimange

Student in Johannesburg

Hello, I'm Rotshidzwa Tshimange, a third-year Bachelor of Education (Senior Phase and Further Education and Training Teaching) student at the University of Johannesburg, specialising in Economics, Business Studies, and Economic and Management Sciences (EMS).

I chose teaching because it offers the opportunity to learn, grow, and explore every day. Subjects such as Economics and Business Studies are constantly evolving, allowing me to help learners understand how the world works while encouraging them to think critically and solve real-world problems.

My goal is to become the kind of teacher whose impact extends beyond the classroom. As a future Business Studies educator, I want to inspire learners to see opportunities around them, develop an entrepreneurial mindset, and have the confidence to create businesses of their own. Success for me is seeing learners apply what they have learned to improve their lives and make meaningful contributions to their communities and society as a whole.

Through my teaching practice, I have completed six weeks of classroom experience, where I planned and presented lessons, engaged with learners, and developed practical teaching skills. I have also completed 45 hours of service learning, providing one-on-one academic support to learners and strengthening my communication, adaptability, and learner-centred teaching approach.

I am recognised for being disciplined, reliable, hardworking, ambitious, and creative. Outside of academics, I enjoy cooking, baking, hiking, camping, travelling, and listening to music. I also have a strong interest in entrepreneurship, and I am working towards building a successful business alongside my teaching career.

I believe that education is more than just sharing knowledge, it extends to equipping learners with the confidence, skills, and mindset to create opportunities for themselves and positively influence the world around them.
