Patrick Roughen is the Interim Dean of the School of Library and Information Sciences at North Carolina Central University, where he was previously Associate Dean. He holds a law degree from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina, where he was awarded a Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian Teaching and Research Fellowship through the Institute of Museum and Library Services. He received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Armstrong State University and obtained an M.L.I.S. degree from Valdosta State University. He is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.
