Roy Y. Gagaza
Financial Professional in Manteca, California and Honolulu County
Roy Y. Gagaza serves as president and CEO of Journey Wealth Management, a firm with offices in Manteca, California, and in Aiea and Honolulu, Hawaii, where he helps people prepare for retirement with practical, carefully planned financial strategies. He draws on many years of leadership in uniform and on a degree in business marketing to explain complex ideas in clear terms. He works to understand each household’s goals, concerns, and time frames so that plans stay realistic, understandable, and focused on long-term security.
Roy began his professional journey in the U.S. Army Reserve and later moved to active duty, serving more than twenty years as an armor officer. He became airborne and ranger qualified, led a tank platoon with the 1st Armored Division during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm, and later commanded a cavalry troop in South Korea. He also served as an operations and training officer, helping units from company through brigade level prepare for deployments during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, and he earned the Bronze Star for his service.
Gagaza started laying the foundation for his financial services career while still on active duty, using limited free time to meet with families, lead educational seminars, and study for professional designations. He continued this work even during a year-long deployment to Kuwait in 2004, steadily building the skills and experience he would later bring to his firm. After retiring from the Army in 2008, he chose to continue serving by helping individuals and couples move toward greater financial clarity and confidence.
Roy Y. Gagaza now focuses on retirement planning, investment and wealth management, tax planning, health care strategies, and legacy and estate services for his firm's clients. He has been inducted into the Advisors Excel Hall of Fame, has received the Advisors Excel Elite Advisor Award every year since 2018, and has been honored with the Security Benefit Elite Advisor Award in 2018 and 2020, as well as the Allianz Century Award for achieving one hundred million dollars in premium, viewing these milestones as reflections of client trust.
Roy approaches each relationship with discipline, organization, and flexibility, encouraging clients to picture what they want life after full-time work to look like and to use the years before retirement to build momentum toward that vision.
