Roy Kheng
Storyteller, Cook, and Researcher in Singapore
Educator | Grounded Polymath | Socio-Technical Translator
An AI once accused me of being a "practical polymath and grounded translator." I don’t disagree.
Over 30+ years, I’ve worn nearly every hat imaginable: factory worker, despatch rider, cook, Asia Pacific wide trade magazine editor, docent trainer, IPPT coordinator, parish council exco, and university lecturer. Some roles were out of necessity, some passion, and some pure happenstance.
Today, I bridge the gap between social theory, human culture, and the physical environment. Whether deconstructing safety culture for engineers or exploring urban spaces as living systems, I translate complex, abstract ideas into grounded, operational reality.

At heart, I’m an educator and mentor whose journey connects the asphalt, the newsroom, and the classroom.
