I am Andrew Brookins and I like to ride bicycles. More specifically I enjoy racing mountain bikes. While I train often on the road it is not my preference. I gained this interest from my father who was a professional cyclists for several years when he was younger. He taught me how to ride when I was very young and it has been something I enjoyed doing since. Racing can be very exciting and there is always room for improvement.
My mountain bike is a Santa Cruz blur xc from 2008. It is a good bike and very light for a mountain bike, but it has many mechanical issues being six years old. Luckily I can fix it myself thanks in part to my experience working in a bike shop for a summer. I would like to get a new bike soon, but mountain bikes are very expensive and I would want to get a very nice one so I will need to get another job soon if I want to get a new bike. Until then I will continue to ride my current setup. While I am yet to win a serious race, I almost always place top three and I think soon I will start winning some races.
So hopefully my mountain bike has told you something about me. I enjoy many other activities as well, but none quite as much as mountain biking. Racing is my favorite thing to do and I want to get much better at it in the future.
