Roy Moskowitz
Staten Island, New York
Roy Moskowitz was born in Monticello NY and graduated from Syracuse University, where he informally created a political communication concentration by combining Broadcast Journalism, Political Science and Speech Communications. At Syracuse, he was California Senator Alan Cranston's presidential campaign student coordinator, and was involved in Division 1 track, intramural sports, and student radio and publishing. He also ran 10 miles backwards to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy.
Upon graduation, he worked as a small market print and broadcast journalist and a chain of allergy centers' Director of Communications and Marketing. Roy proceeded to work for several media service firms, rising to the ranks of VP of Sales before founding Reciprocal Results (R2) in June 1997 as $500 million dollar media service company KSL's Corporate Barter division.
Corporate Barter is the exchange of underperforming assets such as surplus merchandise, hotel rooms, production capacity and real estate for advertising or other goods and services. It is commonly referred to as Media Barter because most transactions of this type involve media. KSL also jobbed out a portion of its non-barter print and out of home media to R2.
The partnership ended in 2001 and Mr. Moskowitz relocated Reciprocal Results from Manhattan to his Staten Island home. The company has since morphed into a full service advertising, media, marketing, PR, and political consulting company. The barter division was rebranded as R2 Trade. R2 has handled name brand companies, small businesses, non-profits and high profile political clients.
Roy is a media advisor and Jewish Liaison for Assemblyman Matt Titone and belongs to the American Association of Political Consultants, New York Ad Club, American Marketing Association, American Advertising Federation and Society For American Baseball Research. He's appeared in Ad Age, Adweek, Adotas, Campaigns and Elections, ClickZ, Media Life, Media Post, Mediaweek, NY Daily News, NY Observer, NY Post, and Staten Island Advance. Roy also directs pro-bono marketing projects on the Taproot foundation's behalf.
He serves on the Richmond County Democratic Committee and is a former presidential delegate. Roy is a Lathrope Voorspuy Award winner, a former United Federation of Jewish Men's Club's Man of the Year and a NY UJA honoree. His wife Ann is a Managing Director at one of the world's best known financial institutions.
