R. M. York has an eclectic career over a span of 55 years, starting with being a Custodian while in high school, a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy, Construction Worker, Accounting Clerk, Foreman in a Steel Plant, Salesman, Business Owner and Landscape Designer. Now semi-retired, York decided to finally write that elusive Great American Novel that's been roaming around in his head, but first entered the publishing world as the author of The Garden Fairy, a children's book. When he told his wife, Kathy, he was going to write a children's book, she said, "That's perfect, because I don't think you've ever grown up."
York has three children, who are all grown up with families of their own and has six grandchildren, the reason he started writing, as a hopeful legacy to them and never had thoughts about publishing until urged by others.
York lives in Henderson, NV with his wife of alost 48 years, Kathleen (Kathy). When not trying to maintain his status as Mr Wonderful or writing about something, York dabbles in acrylics as seen in the painting of his granddaughter to the right.
