Roy van der Plas

As you can see, my name is Roy van der Plas. I am a 3rd year student game artist and I am very interested in game design.

I live in the Netherlands and currently study at Mediacollege Amsterdam. I'm currently 18 years old and I love entertaining people and making them happy.

It is my dream to become part of the gaming industry. Start my own game company and make amazing games for people to enjoy.

The biggest reason why is because I love games myself, and I love how they are able to make you feel emotions you would normally not feel.

For example, you're having a wonderful day and think about starting The Last Of Us. After playing the prologue, most people ended up shedding a few tears. They are sad because some fictional person dies.

Games make people enjoy their lives. Some even save them from a horrible end. But everyone should be able to see, understand, enjoy and experience how great games can be. They might have a very deep and sad bit of story in there, but that makes you think about real life.

Of course I know this is more than just fun and games. There are consequenses to your actions and certain things will cost more than you would get back.

Which is why I have been researching games, gaming industries and the history of gaming up untill now and try to make the best choices in creating a great game and making sure it will become populair.
