RESEARCH INTERESTS
Broadly, my research plan is focused on improving the social health of frail adults living with dementia. My research is focused on identifying effective communication strategies that that caregivers can use will supporting individuals living with dementia. This research area is motivated by the need to develop evidence-based communication strategies guidelines that can be incorporated into a training intervention designed for formal caregivers assisting residents with moderate to severe dementia. My current position at the University of Washington will expand my expertise to include advanced training on outcomes in rehabilitation research, which specialized skills in modern psychometric theory and measurement development.
