Rumford Partners

We are transplants to New York City -- two "young worshipful beginners" as E.B. White called newcomers. We love the unexpected vistas of water towers across the skyline, sunsets on the Hudson and surprises around every corner. Most of all, we enjoy the serendipitous conversations with people who can annoy or warm you. Our taste for city life grew slowly over many years from our foothold in Rhode Island with intermittent trips for theater and museums. We found our favorite activity was just being here to taste and see the city. And, in case, you're wondering, we named our blog Custard & Concrete after our favorite soft-serve treat from Shake Shack and the sidewalks still unexplored.
