I build RPG Builder, a toolkit for people running Dungeons & Dragons 5e games.
It came out of our own table. We kept stopping mid-session to look up a rule or a stat block, and what we actually wanted next was to generate something with it right there — an NPC, a tavern, a recap of what just happened. So we built that, and we still use it every week.
The idea it is built around: the session you just played should be what builds your campaign, not something you write up separately afterwards and then never open again.
