Rohun Rajpal
Hi! My name is Rohun Rajpal, and I am a junior at Hackley School in Tarrytown, NY. I enjoy reading, classical music (I play the violin), math, computer science, teaching, and tennis. I am passionate about our environment, and the education of underprivileged children.
The Earth is our only home, and I am very concerned by the fact that long term climate change is happening in a manner that our very ecosystem is being threatened. As a youth, I strongly feel that it is critical for our generation to voice our concerns and lead change, as we will be most affected by the consequences of the environmental decisions and actions that are taken today. The evidence regarding long-term global climate change is clear--climate change is happening rapidly primarily because of human activities. Preventing further climate change is one of the greatest challenges that we face today. Whether it is through increasing awareness about the causes and effects of climate change, or through making changes at our homes, schools, or offices to mitigate our adverse impact on the environment, or through increasing energy efficiency (or developing greener sources), or through influencing regulatory actions, we need to take action now!
