I am an American who recently relocated to Qatar. As I am currently between jobs, I have the rare opportunity to pursue my passion - which is books. I love all kinds of books, but in particular, I am enamored with children's books - from the dusty first editions one might be lucky enough to encounter at a flea market or antique store, to the vivid, imaginative and lively digital books availabe on our laptops, ipads, and mobile phones, to the hand made books created at the dining room table filled with mistakes, smudges and fanstically original ideas. I am thrilled about this new adventure that has brought my family to a part of the world with a very different story telling history then that from which we grew up with. I look forward to exploring, understanding (hopefully) and connecting this new life with those people, places and ideas that we encountered in our previous one. And maybe I will even find it in me to write a book about it!
