Growing up in one of the most diverse cities, Los Angeles, I was always intrigued by all the different types of cultures and how they made the place I grew up in so interesting. I decided to pursue a degree in Political Science and International Relations with my end goal being law school. I chose to attend UC Berkeley, as it had a rich history for its involvement in political movements and recognition as one of the top universities in the world. I began my career by doing an internship for President Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign, in which I had the opportunity to meet him at a Presidential rally in Las Vegas, NV. My first law internship was working as a Legal Assistant for one of top employment law firms, The Gillam Law Firm in Los Angeles, CA. During my last two years at UC Berkeley, I became really exposed to the tech industry, which put a pause on the whole law school thing. I quickly became fascinated by all the different type of tech companies in the Bay Area and what many of them were doing to disrupt the status quo. From small start-ups to well-established corporations, it was captivating to witness what was going on. I joined Oracle and learned the ins and outs of the tech industry in the Silicon Valley. Oracle helped shape my conception of technology and how it applies to our daily lives. I recently took a position at Pure Storage, an all-flash SAN array company in Mountain View, CA. Pure Storage was exactly what I was looking for. We are growing very fast, but doing it in such a way that really allows you to feel the growth all around you and encompasses a culture that is truly remarkable. I have finally found a place where I am truly happy and I am looking forward to my career unfolding at Pure Storage in the coming years.

I am an avid traveler, and I believe that traveling really does give you a new perspective on life. My most recent trip was to Barcelona, where I visited a childhood friend that moved to Spain to pursue his dream of playing professional baseball. I truly admire him, as it takes a lot of courage to be able to pack up your belongings and begin a new life in a different part of the world, all while pursuing your goals and aspirations. Where will I be five years from now? I’m not entirely sure. I am really happy where I am in life right now, and only hope that I continue to see the world and bring happiness and positivity to my family and those around me.
