Rubens Fernandes Junior
Student in Bologna
I am Rubens Jr, Bachelor in Geography with extensive experience (over a decade) as teacher in the Brazilian public school system. I'm currently expanding my skills in the Digital Humanities Master's program at the University of Bologna, focusing on how technology and programming can be applied to Humanities and spatial research.
Current project
My current project is in the field of Digital Humanities and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) under supervision of Professor Francesca Tomasi (University of Bologna).
The project aims to create a Linked Open Data (LOD) web repository for the UNESCO World Heritage site of Koh Ker, in Cambodia, integrating all publications indexed in major scholarly databases (Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar, Elsevier, Jstor) and the georeferencing of all temples under UNESCO's safeguarding framework.
Past projects
In addition, I have experience with Bibliometrics. I conducted a bibliometric analisys of the available publication corpus concerning the UNESCO World Heritage site of Serra da Capivara, Brazil, as my Bachelor thesis in Geography. This work provided me with previous hands-on experience in data processing and programming.
