Ruby Bhattacharya

Ruby graduated from Teesside University in the UK with a degree in Process Biotechnology, after spending a number of years as a research scientist, she changed tracks and started a highly successful career as a recruitment consultant in the UK. She built a contract recrutiment practice in Manchester UK for an International recruitment firm. She was transferred to the SF office in the US to take over 2 key national accounts placing 100's of developers, product, project managers and designers. Ruby is a seasoned Technical Recruitment Consultant with over 10 years experience recruiting for top tech firms. After many years in the agency world, she realized that agencies were not able to offer services to startups that saved money, that acted as a true partner, that taught the company how to recruit internally without using agencies. Ruby founded Hiregrind based on this ethos, a Recruitment Process Outsourcing firm strictly for startups. Ruby mentors at 500startups as chief hiring/recruitment expert She is well entrenched in the startup world.. She is also involved with a number of bootcamp for developer type organizations in Oakland where she handles graduate placements within startups in the bay area. Ruby is a paleo food enthusiast, a health nut, wants to start aquaponics gardening, an avid cook, dreams of living in a few yurts on a piece of land in Grass Valley....not sure about internet access there! She has just started learning how to sail and enjoy taking the boat out onto the bay sailing from emeryville to SF.
